About
"I am
wondering, why are you here?"
This site
first began as an archive of prequel information that predated
the prequel trilogy. Essentially, the whole site was what is now
the prequel section. I started that site, (which was also called
"The Lost Episodes"), so that all that information would
be preserved as it was being written over by the prequel trilogy.
These efforts were in no way reactionary or revisionist and I
actually happen to enjoy the prequel trilogy quite a bit. But
I also like the stories of the Clone Wars and the Old Republic
that existed before The Phantom Menace hit theaters and
I wanted to make sure those stories weren't forgotten.
It wasn't
long before I realized the prequel era wasn't the only "lost"
era of Star Wars. It was then that the present site came into
being, and "The Lost Episodes" came to emcompass anything
in the Star Wars universe that could be considered "lost,"
including things that never came to be, and things that did but
that have since been forgotten. I wanted to present a side of
Star Wars that's not readily visible, but one that you usually
have to dig deep to reach.
But I didn't
just want to collect things. I wanted to do something with them.
I think of this as a dynamic archive. This site will regulary
feature special projects. The first of these is to produce a draft
of The Empire Strikes Back that closely matches the first
draft written by Leigh Brackett. Other projects will appear in
the future.
